About
Already a traditional event that is also of interest to dancers from all over the world, not only from neighboring and European countries. The second half of September in Split is one of the more attractive tourist periods, because the days are still long and warm enough to provide enough time to go to one of the city's beaches, take a relaxed tour of the city and, after all, enjoy a tango event.
Program
As usual, we'll prolong the milongas depending on the dancers!

The musicians
The Guerrero-Capitano Tango Duo made up of Leonel Capitano (voice and bandoneon) and Agustín Guerrero (piano) is one of the most complete manifestations of a new and genuine language of Argentine music.
This artistic meeting has several years of gestation since in 2017 they have developed, together with the guitarist Juan Martín Scalerandi, recording material and a series of concerts in different places in Argentina, with the Creole repertoire of the work of Carlos Gardel.
Teachers
Kristina is a professional tango dancer from North America who’s performed and danced in Argentina, Europe and throughout the United States. In her 17 years as a dance teacher, she has been bringing a joyful and informed approach to learning- influenced by years of tango teaching pedagogy, somatic psychology principles, and movement study. Her classes focus on connecting the dots to a more mature dancing level, find deeper somatic awareness, and expand creative potential.
Kristina is also dual role dancer, and is happy to nurture people who want to see tango through all sides of themselves.
Marko's journey into the world of Argentine tango began out of curiosity, and has turned into a calling dedicated to preserving the authenticity of this dance while constantly exploring modern interpretations. In his work, Marko emphasizes the importance of connection, comfort, and musicality. His instruction is not based on merely learning steps and figures, but on understanding body mechanics and the subtle dynamics between partners. Marko's mission is to empower dancers to find their own voice within the embrace, whether they are taking their first class or are veterans of the milongas. His students especially appreciate his ability to break down complex concepts into simple and logical elements.
Workshops with Kristina i Marko
Technique for both roles
for all levels - 90min
FRIDAY (September 18th) / 15:30 - 17:00 h
The most important aspect of tango for both roles is preparing the body for movement. Without this, we miss cues in our dance, and compensate by rushing or exaggerating a lead. Let’s find ways to bring organization to the body, so our dance is an invitation, not a demand. :) For leaders and followers.
Ocho cortado variations
intermediate level - 90min
SATURDAY (September 19th) / 15:30 - 17:00 h
Tango's most popular move is also its most versatile and playful! Bring a new found depth to this step by focusing on the details of weight change, embellishments, and rhythm to bring this humble step into its full potential.
Suspended movements
intermediate/advanced level - 90min
SUNDAY (September 20th) / 14:30 - 16:00 h
Let’s bring a little drama by changing dynamics through a movement. In the class, we take the structure of a very known sequence, and use it to find new musical and emotional possibilities. Same step, completely different feel. :) Officially labeled a “Top 3 favorite steps” :) by Marko and Kristina.
